As we continue our journey to support Ella and her fight against scoliosis, I wanted to share an exciting development with those closest to us. After much research and consultation, we've decided to pivot our focus towards a promising surgical option—Anterior Scoliosis Correction (ASC). This procedure offers a better chance for Ella to live a life free from pain and limitations.
Ella's determination has been nothing short of inspiring. Despite the challenges she faces daily, her passion and spirit continue to shine doing all the things she loves. Rarely missing any opportunity to be active, she continues to show us all the true meaning of resilience. Her strength fuels our resolve to explore every possible avenue for her well-being.
Why ASC is a Better Fit for Ella:
The decision to focus on ASC over Vertebral Body Tethering (VBT) was made after careful consideration of the benefits it offers. ASC is known for its ability to correct scoliosis curves and twists more effectively than VBT, which has limitations and higher revision rates. Unlike VBT, ASC does not rely on tethering the spine, which can sometimes lead to complications or the need for additional surgeries.
ASC also provides greater flexibility and movement post-surgery, which is crucial for Ella as an athlete and her desire to be a "normal teenager." It allows for a more natural range of motion, supporting her active lifestyle and love for soccer. Furthermore, ASC has shown to be effective across various age groups, making it a versatile choice for children, adolescents, and adults alike.
To move forward with scheduling the ASC surgery, we need an additional $10,000 for the down payment. This will secure Ella's appointment and bring us one step closer to providing her with the care she deserves.
We have been blessed with the support of over 200 generous donors. If each of you could consider making another donation or sharing our story with someone that is willing to help, we could easily meet our goal through continued acts of kindness and generosity. Your continued support is invaluable to us.
We are immensely grateful for the generosity we've received from our community. Your contributions have been a beacon of hope for our family, and we cannot thank you enough. With your continued help, we can reach this new milestone and ensure Ella gets the treatment she needs.
Thank you for standing with us in this journey. Every donation, share, and word of encouragement makes a world of difference.
With heartfelt gratitude,
